We all know that fitness is a very personal topic. The right way to get fit, to work out, to lead a healthy lifestyle differs from person to person. For some people it may be cardio, for others it may be Olympic lifting, for some it could be yoga or pilates, and others may just prefer to go on walks and live a busy and active lifestyle. There is no one size fits all correct method or approach that is perfect for everyone. Now, let’s talk about the importance of fostering a community environment during fitness-related activities. Here at Preme, we develop routines and workouts that are tailored to our individual clients, we think about fitness in the terms of, ‘what is going to get this person the best results in the most productive manner possible.’ Working out takes discipline, it takes motivation, you have to show up for you, you have to make the conscious decision every day to go do this thing that is going to improve your health and strength. We may be instructing you, curating your workouts, but only you can decide how hard you want to push yourself, how much effort you are willing to put in. This being said, it can be a challenge sometimes to do this alone. But when you are in a group setting, surrounded by others who also showed up, who are ready to work, who want to become a better version of themselves every single day, it is overwhelmingly motivating. In the environment we have established at Preme, we are able to find that perfect balance of peer competition and support. At Preme, if you are feeling insecure, nervous, or just don’t think you can, you can look over at someone and say, well if they can do one more rep, so can I. You’ll want to try it. You won’t be afraid of failure because you have your community to hold you up and get you back on your feet. Here, our clients want to watch each other succeed. They want each other to beat their best time. At the same time, they want to be the best. They want to win. They want to push themselves as hard as they can and go crush the clock, crush their PR, and leave feeling accomplished. This community is vital to maintaining this energy. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who want to do better and be better is incredibly motivating in itself but we take it a step further because, in our environment, they want to watch you succeed too. We may compete with each other, but we compete to push each other and ourselves. We are in it together. For the duration of the workout, we are a team. If you are ever feeling hesitant or insecure about working out in a group setting, give Preme a chance. Let us show you that here, in this space, you are safe, you are supported, and you will be pushed to your fullest potential. But most importantly, remember that you don’t have to do it alone. Let your peers encourage you to go up in weight, to try double-unders instead of normal jump ropes, to go up in height on your box jump. Do it for yourself and do it for each other. And when it’s done, you have a group to celebrate with.
